Standing Seam

Shortly after the founding of CEI as a commercial roofing company, we moved into the market of metal building envelope solutions. CEI installed its first full standing seam metal roof on the Kingsley Community Center in Lansing, MI in 1976. CEI had always done sheet metal work for its roofing customers, so it was a logical progression for CEI. This segment of CEI has grown over the years to be more than half of CEI's business.

As we have grown, we have developed a depth of knowledge in the metal systems. CEI runs a full-service union sheet metal business where we fabricate and install metal pieces for projects.  Today, we continue to install beautiful standing seam roofs. Most recently, CEI completed the reroof of Soaring Eagle Casino and Hotel. The 2,880 square project is a gorgeous, hartford green standing seam.

In 1976, CEI was awarded their first standing seam metal roofing job. The project was located in Lansing, MI. The Kingsley Community Center was featured in the Lansing State Journal after it was opened and CEI had finished the installation of the roof.

"The Kingsley Community Center opened in February of 1977 on Kalamazoo Street on Lansing's west side. It became the focal point for westside community activities, offering everything from basketball to crafts to social services." - Lansing State Journal
